Back to London!

Hey Bloggies!

Last week I was back in my favourite place, London! Now, I am lucky enough to go quite often, as I am a part of the British Heart Foundation's Press Gang. This means that I am part of a group of young heart patients like myself, who all write for the BHF newsletters, which go out to over 3000 other young heart patients in the UK. Some of our work is also featured online! When in this 'gang' we get to travel to different events and interview people for our seasonal columns, which is amazing!
This time, me and my Dad went to the premiere of 2 new movies made by the BHF. It was all based on a true story, who collapsed one day in school, as she had an un-diagnosed heart condition. I don't want to give too much away, but basically one film was made in the point of view of the heart patient, and the other was made in the point of view of the people around her, friends, family, teachers etc. If you would like to see these films, tay tuned on the YHeart website--- http://www.yheart.net/
The event was great, and it was nice to see my friends again.

While in London, my dad and I thought we should just make the most of it! After the premiere we went nd got a bite to eat at the Shake Shak. It is a famous American restaurant, which opened up its first UK branch in London. I had to try it! It did not disappoint. Classic American burger and fries. One of my favourite things.
We then left and went to the theatre, where we seen The Bodyguard! It was fabulous! The songs were great, the story was cassic and Alexandra Burke was phenomenal. A fantastic show!

After we had a well deserved, good nights sleep in the hotel, we wondered around London for a whole day. We didn't get the tube, we just walked every where. Looking at everything, in our own little world. I loved it!

Thanks for reading once again, I do enjoy writing these blog posts. Let me know of anything you'd like me to write about!

Until next time,

First Impression- The Body Shop All-in-One Primer and BB Cream

Yesterday, I went to shopping with my sister. I went only looking for some new make up and a bag, and I succeeded.
I went in to the body shop, and saw the All-In-One BB Cream. This has been so popular everywhere lately, I must be so late to the game. All of the beauty bloggers and YouTubers love it, and I really wanted to try it out.
My experiences in the Body Shop have always been great, but the lovely lady who helped me on this occasion was exceedingly wonderful. She came over, and I got a bit, scared almost. I am 16 years old but being very short, I look a lot younger. When I do go shopping in beauty shops, I sometimes get treated strangely. Some shop assistants almost expect that I won't buy anything, or I'm too young for their products. This aggravates me, and when customer assistants do approach me, I get a little nervous, expecting they are going to look down on me in some way.
The girl in the body shop, came over to me very happy and cheery, and saw that I had picked up the BB Cream. 'Oh my God you've saw our BB Cream! It's been all over the magazines this month, have you seen our offer?' She showed me that I got the primer half price with the BB Cream, and I was so tempted. Obviously she was trying to get me to buy it, that was her job after all. She said all these lovely things about this magical BB Cream and was ecstatic when I decided to purchase it. As I left the store, she shouted, 'You'll fall in love with it! Come back and let me know if you like it!'
I have fallen in love with it. This review is my first impression, as I used it for the first time today, but so far, it is magical.
I first used the Instablur primer, and when I initially put it on my hand, it looked almost grainy, like an exfoliate.
However, when I put it on my face, I immediately felt a difference. My face suddenly felt so smooth, and I only used a tiny tiny bit. So the Instablur primer was a hit.

I then used the BB cream. I knew that it was a colour adapting cream, so obviously it initially came out white with little specks of skin tone.

And again, when I put this on my face, it changed everything. I loved the way it adapted to MY skin tone. I am very pale, and I find it very difficult to find a foundation that isn't orange, but also doesn't make me look like a ghost. This was perfect. I can't say enough good things about it.

This is a picture of me with only these 2 products on. I have no concealer, eye makeup or any other foundations.
It gave me good coverage, without feeling like I had painted my face. I felt like I had no make up on, but I looked a bit better than if I actually didn't!

The pack of the 2 was £20, which is a little bit more expensive than another drug store BB cream or foundation, but it was worth it.

So, if you are looking for a light foundation or BB cream, I would definitely suggest you try this one out!

Until next time,

Organ Donation and Youtube

Hey Everyone!

I think I’m in the mood to write a really long blog post, I just want to chat!
To begin, this week is National Transplant Week. There has been lots of stories and experiences being talked about surrounding the topic of transplants during this week and you have no idea how much it means to me. I, myself, have a congenital heart condition called Hypo-Plastic Left Heart Syndrome, and eventually I will also need a transplant. To explain how much a transplant means to people like myself is impossible, it is our second chance at life. All of my family are on the organ donor list, and we are always trying to convince others to join as well. To rely on someone else to sadly pass away, for you to live yourself must be incredible. I have no idea who, or if anyone reads my blog. It’s just a place for me to talk, and I think it’s great. If you are reading this, and are not on the donor list, please hear me out! To know that if you were to die, a part of you would live on in someone else. If you were to die, someone out there would be able to live longer. If you were in the situation of needing an organ, wouldn’t you be begging on your hands and knees for one? Or if your son, daughter, mum, dad, sister, brother or whoever needed an organ to live, wouldn’t you be praying and praying that one would emerge for them? If you just think of who is on the other side, and how much it would mean to them if a generous person were to give up something they no longer need… To be in that situation yourself, you would see how much a second chance at life would mean to you. Thanks for reading my ramble, but go for it! You have nothing to lose, only more life for someone else to gain.

The next thing I want to talk about has been pending with me for a long time. It’s very nerve wracking for me to do, but I have finally decided, I am going to do YouTube. It is something I am so interested in, and for some reason I have been so scared to do it. I think I was most scared about people in school, but I’ve just decided to let it go. I am 16 years old and I can do whatever hobby I like, so there! I am determined to keep at it, and I am so excited! My channel will just be a bit of everything, tags, vlogs, heart talk, and just whatever! Here’s a link to my channel so as you can be there when I upload my first video: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT8Lse_gbT-3x3v8pZTZqgg

That’s just another check in, any comments leave down below! Thanks,

School takes over!

Back to reality now! After 2 weeks of incredible lie ins, gorgeous food and presents, school comes crawling back! I don't mind school, I'm quite academical and I enjoy learning and having a laugh in school, but I tell you, when's half term?!! The days are dragging in, and I really just can't be bothered to do controlled assessments and translation homeworks! Bleh.
Well the weekend is a day away, so that's not a bad thing!
On Friday night I'm going ice skating with my youth, and on Saturday it's my friends birthday, so at least I have some things to look forward to!
Til next time, Lucinda ❤️

Haul

Hello, my name is Lucy Allen and I am a shopaholic!
The sales are on, the sales are on! I decided to go into town today and grab me some bargains. There was lovely stuff in most of the shops and I am very pleased with my results!
First I visited DV8. Their sale was great I must say!
I picked up this black velvet dress, with cropped sleeves. It was reduced from £22 to £18.
I then bought this knee long, straight skirt with a black and white checkered pattern on it. It was £9.99.

I then proceeded into TK Maxx, where I bought some gym wear.
I got a blue vest top which was £10 and three quarter length black gym trousers which were £13.

Then, I entered new look, and that's where the damage was done....
I grabbed this NAVY (looks black) long sleeved jumper dress, and this was reduced to £4.
This pink satin top wasn't in the sale, but it was so nice I couldn't resist. It was still only £13.
I got this dress as well, and again this looks black but it is a burgundy red. So pretty, and only £10.
I got a little navy and white stripped long sleeved top, as I needed some more plain tops to wear. It was only £4 as well.
These shoes were my favourite buy of the day! Reduced to a tenner! Burgundy peep toe with shiny gold heels! Love them
That's my haul for now! Bye !

Post-Christmas clear out and bff catchup

Today I finally tackled the task of my once known as a bed room! Everyone's house is a mess after Christmas, with all the new gifts that you receive, it's very difficult to find a place to put it all! This is usually a good time to clear out all your rubbish and unwanted possessions, so that was my ambition today! So I stuck on some comfy clothes, tied my hair back and got stuck into tidying the tip! I got lots of clothes and things for charity/auction, lots of old clothes for the clothing bin and bags and bags of complete and utter rubbish! It was so nice to clear it all away, and de-clutter for the beginning of 2014. I like to organise and clear out from time to time, it refreshes my mindset. I have to admit though, I am terrible at keeping my room tidy. I love to organise but then I get to lazy to keep up with it, so most of the time my room is like a bomb site! Oopsies!
Here are some before and after pics!

I always use shoe boxes and drawer dividers to maximise my storage space^
(Listen mrs allsop here!)

My best friend Loren rang and asked to go out, so we went to josh macs for a meal and a catch up. It was nice to sit down and talk to her, and it was an incredible dinner!
Loren and I ages ago!^

There was another little surprise and happy moment that occurred today....
Yes! Zoe is finally home!!! She's still a tiny bit ill but i am ecstatic to at long last be able to have her at home! She loved it here! So peaceful, lots of cuddles and is such an adventurer! She even climbed into the shower when I wasn't looking! She followed me about which was really funny, and I just couldn't get enough of her! I am so happy right now, Zoe is the most precious thing and I am thrilled to have her home and with me all the time now! Amazing! ❤️
Well I guess that's it for now, speak soon,
Lucinda 💚

Uncle and aunties wedding

As I said before, the 30th of December was the day that my uncle and new auntie were wed! It was so great to spend the day with all the family!
The ceremony was beautiful! Ruby (my cousin and the married couples baby) , the bridesmaids and of course Emma walked down the aisle, all looking stunning! The minister was, well, what could you say, different? He talked a lot of rubbish, but he was funny and entertaining!  I was asked to read at the wedding, so I wrote a little poem and read it during the ceremony! I was pleased with the way it went and my uncle&auntie loved it!
After the ceremony we went into a lounge, and had tea, coffee, wine and biscuits. It was nice to enjoy everyone's Company and just relax for a while. I looked after Ruby a lot of the day in between the guests all having a nurse.
We were then brought into the dining room, where there was speeches and a lovely dinner.
After enjoying a nice dinner, Ruby was getting tired, so I took her to the cottage that my uncle&auntie were staying in. Ruby had a sleep and I just watched some tv. Ruby was very good all day and I'm sure she needed that rest!
When Ruby woke, it was time to party! More people came and it was a great reception! We danced and had a fab night!
So that was the round up for yesterday! New Year's Eve isn't very exciting this year! We've went to our grandas for a bit and welcomed the new year, snuggled up at home! It's been mental the last week, so we decided to have a relaxing nye!
Congratulations to the newly weds! Here are a few of my favourite pictures from the day!
